. >> director metcalf? >> i am really glad that we are talking about the extension of the cal train i am hope thating we spend more time as a board on this. i have no concerns whatsoever about ecom or the price. i am concerned about the scope of what is in this and what i know from talking to other people in the community is that the various partners that will be necessary to connect cal train to the transbay terminal do not agree about the alignment. the san francisco mayor's office and i am the mayor's appointee to this board does not agree with this alignment. i don't believe that the san francisco county transportation authority does. getting agreement between the various parties in addition to the high speed rail authority and cal train is the task ahead for us. the, i believe, i have a great concern about opening a supplemental and then locking ourselves in and then telling ourselves that we can't reopen it. i know that we have to do a supplemental eir but i don't think that we yet know what should be in it. >> i just add on that that question. because i had a related question. and so i
for cal train to proceed with design of their option one, the berm option for the bridge replacement. that includes allowing them to work with the schedules and coordination with the connector road project to make sure that we're able to minimize that gap enclosure. the second piece of this recommendation is to provide funding for the next phase of connector road design. that includes allocating prop k funds to dpw which will be leading the 30% design effort for the connector road. that includes environmental review as well as starting right at negotiation. the purpose of that is to get more clarity to the schedule and make sure the connector road can move forward in parallel with the bridge replacement project. really make sure we're minimizing that construction overlap period. lastly to appropriate prop k funds to the authority to continue working on planning and project oversight as well as conducting further rounds of outreach to go into the community with the work that we're going to be doing and providing some answers to the community in the spring before we come back to the bo
agencies. agencies like cal trains will have ability to do design and cost estimation. we'll be well prepared for any request that come our way as well as work program we've anticipated in our budget. this would be three different contracts. not to exceed in total not to exceed $600,000 for the first three years. that's anticipated in our adopted budget and any -- and will be included in future year budget. not among all three, there's not to exceed $600,000. i can answer any questions. >> thank you for the presentation. i just want to bring to the public to explain. we have core staff and planners within the staffing of the transportation authority that this provides additional outside consultants, planner and support on a as needed basis? >> that's right. actually doing technical work. actually doing traffic analysis or developing intersection design. say we have a neighborhood transportation plan we're manage, the authority staff is managing a project but these consultants would do the work to say develop the community-based designs or develop the visualizations for instance that
sometimes it's easy to become kin cal there are still -- cynical there are people who give of themselves just out of the kindness of theirigihae heart, . and it pretty amazing. so today i'm taking the opportunity to recognize a team of people that have worked very diligently to improve the conditions of public housing. i think it is incredibly important to recognize those that fly under the radar, but do extraordinary work to serve the public. i would like to ask housing authority staff, and i'm glad you guys are up here now, marshall,v,'(⌞ç philip, pamela,d will staff person leland, and newly elected plaza east tenant association martha. over the past several months, i have worked closely with staff and residents of the housing authority sites that quee that e have in district 5, whether programming community spaces, or connecting folks to mental health services, the group here today has gone above and beyond to be community builders for the residents of public housing. most recently the staff teamed with good will to get residents involved in the intensive job readiness program and
